Carving during Wintertime
During summertime I work here. Not today it is minus 14 degrees Celsius.
Inside my workshop we have 0 degree centigrade. I do what I have to do, prepare the cut-outs for the animals.
Carving I prefer in front of my oven inside.
This is the forest right in front of our house, where I get some of the material I use: birch, beech juniper wood. Alder trees grow little up the valley.
There is enough of space in the barn to dry and store the wood.
The place for storing the finished products doesn’t need to be very big.
Maybe the linden tree in back of our house some day has to be transformed into thousands of little wooden animals. (The tree is not at good health)
